Last week I didn’t publish anything, because I was way too busy being depressed (yes, I know, I’m weak
) and working on the newsletter. So far it has been going strong, and because some of you aren’t receiving the newsletter yet, I’m publishing the third edition here. I hope you sign up, simply because it’s worth it!

Personally, I hadn't signed up until now as I strongly prefer reading information like this online instead of via email. However, if you are posting articles to the newsletter that aren't in the blog, then it looks like I have no choice if I want to see all the new articles. Maybe I'm simply missing the point of the newsletter, but from my perspective it just seems like extra (and pointless) effort to get this information from two places instead of one now.
For me it isn't pointless, because some things just don't belong on this blog (the sentences, the homework, the excerpts from the eBook). Besides, it's always a good thing to build a list, especially if something happens to this blog (not that it will, but it has happened to me before and others; a lot of the content was lost and the domain was taken).
I completely agree that those items are better suited to the newsletter than being posted here. My only concern are the "articles" that appear in the newsletter that don't get posted to the blog (like the "Timeboxing" article in the above example). I will likely stay subscribed anyway as many of the other sections look more interesting than I had expected (thanks for posting the sample newsletter), but I would still prefer to see the actual "articles" that appear there show up on the blog as well.
In the last newsletter (http://us1.campaign-archive.com/?u=5d886212b8a375d66f276cc65&id=47525ebf82) I had an article that was built on the article about advancing as an advanced learner.
I might consider publishing these articles on the blog as well, but I also want to provide something for "loyal" readers.
And oh, some people just prefer to get things in the mail. I mean, I use and RSS reader because I hate checking on hundreds of websites. Others go even furthers and let everything deliver to their mailbox. For me it's another way to build traffic to the weblog and let people not forget it.
i can see that. I actually use Opera's "Open All Folder Items" feature to open a batch of select language blogs daily (I use this trick for several other types of sites as well), so missing a visit to one site doesn't really happen for me if it's in a group like that.
However, if the articles in the newsletter appeared in both places, then it would pretty much be exactly that…a choice between which delivery format you like (with the not-really-blog-friendly content only available in the newsletter).

Now this one i'm with you Ramses. Great idea!
Hello again Ramses,
it would be nice if you put a "Language Blogs Feed" here on your blog and connect with people with similar views.
I found your blog on Keith's feed.
http://auathai.wordpress.com/ http://natural-language-acquisition.blogspot.com/ http://www.spanish-only.com/ http://daninbangkok.blogspot.com/
are very close.
Sorry Igor, I don't have room for that in my current layout
.
I could make a seperate page, but I have to look if it's useful.
