My good friend Peter (follow him on Twitter) of Babelhut.com isn’t only a serious learner of the Spanish language, he’s also a coder (something I didn’t know). A few days ago he e-mailed me to tell me about his newest project: Barra de Español.
It’s no mind-blowing stuff, but certainly something every serious learner of the Spanish language should use. For example: people without their keyboard set to U.S. International or Spanish, often have difficulties typing accents and such. The bar contains all accented letters in a dropdown list, which is ideal for everyone who doesn’t want or can’t chance the setting. Next to that it has an option to search in the WordReference dictionary (English-Spanish, Spanish-English and Spanish-Spanish). However, if you find a Spanish word you want to look up, you simply select it and select definir with your right mouse-button. If that’s not enough it also contains links to some neat native materials to complete your immersion experience.
The toolbar is still in a test phase, so don’t be afraid to give feedback to Peter. Also, rate it and write a short review if you use the toolbar, Peter will certainly appreciate it.
Go to the Mozilla website or read more about the toolbar here (or read this post for some more info about the toolbar).
