Today Spanish class was actually fun. Instead of our normal professor (a grammar lovin’ *peep*), the two Spanish interns decided to teach us some really cool slang. It was too much to sum up in this post (and I already covered most of the expressions and words here), but this word really stood out: cagar. Even this word is too much to cover completely now, but I’ll make a start with it today.
Literally, cagar means “to have a shit”. Sorry, I can’t help it; that’s what it means. However, there are MANY expressions with the word cagar. Some are: “to have had it”, “to be screwed up”, “to be … shitless”, etc. See some of the examples:
Sentences
¡Cagamos!
We’ve had it!
Ahora sí que la hemos cagado.
Now we’ve really screwed up.
Se estarán cagando de miedo.
They’ll be scared shitless.
Hace un frío que te cagas.
It’s bloody freezing.
*Note: Most expressions here are either colloquial or really vulgar.
