Today’s word is an easy one for every English speakers (aren’t all you guys English speakers?) out there. The word of today is razón. If you look closely, you’ll see it fits perfectly with its English counterpart ‘reason’ (mind the stress, which is different).
So, what does razón mean? Of course it means ‘reason’, but it can also mean ‘to be right’ or ‘argument’ (not in the sense of a fight, but again in the send of ‘giving an argument/reason’) or even ratio (Avanzan a razón de diez kilómetros por día – ‘They are advancing at the rate of ten kilometres per day’). A common expression is; tiene(s) razón.
