Today again a word that’s a result from the question-post and which was proposed by meruelo, flipar. You might’ve heard it countless times, as it’s a word that’s being used quite often to describe that someone is ‘flipping’, or getting crazy or wild. It can also mean ‘to love something’.
Remembering flipar as ‘to flip’ in the sense of getting wild won’t be hard, the two words are pretty much the same. But there’s another meaning that can be given to it, that of ‘getting high on drugs’. So, instead of using drogarse, you could use flipar as well.
Sentences
Le flipan los coches antiguos.
He’s crazy about antique cars.
Está flipado todo el día.
He’s high on drugs all day.
Se flipa por el cine.
She loves the cinema.
Se flipa con heroína.
He trips on heroin.
*Sentences taken from “EsPasa diccionario de la lengua española”.
